Oil separator captures lubrication oil carried by high-temperature discharge gas before entering condenser. Oil droplets are separated from refrigerant gas through baffles and collision structure inside the tank. Collected oil accumulates at separator bottom and flows back to compressor crankcase via oil return capillary. Proper oil separation maintains sufficient oil level inside compressor and avoids oil accumulation in heat exchangers. Oil return small orifice needs regular inspection to prevent blockage by carbon sediment and impurities. Formal refrigeration factory selects oil separator capacity matching compressor displacement.
