Many industrial cold storage rooms work under variable load: on days when a lot of hot goods enter, sometimes the load of stored products is very small. Sizing equipment only for medium loads can cause problems when thermal requirements are highest.

The heat load of the cold storage room consists of several terms: the loss of walls and roofs, man-made heat, and the cooling heat of lighting and internal equipment, especially new goods entering the cold storage room. The latter is the most important change that produces the load.

The most common mistake is to ignore the peak load when introducing hot products, so that the whole system can reach a stable load state. In this case, the evaporators DL, DD or DJ and the condensers FNH, FNV or FNVT will all operate under their capacity limits, and the temperature cannot be lowered in time, and thermal deviation will occur, thus affecting the preservation of goods.

For facilities with peak load, it is recommended to use additional safety margins. The standard profit rate of 15% is applicable to climate change, but for variable goods that frequently enter hot goods, it must be expanded to 25%-30%.

The evaporator must be able to discharge the peak heat in a short time without excessive frost. If the charging peak is very high, the evaporator will dry quickly, causing frequent thawing cycles and destroying the cooling process of goods.

On the condenser side, it is strongly recommended to adjust the variable load with EC fan. At low load, they slow down to maintain a stable condensation pressure; Under peak load, they work at the highest speed to consume all the heat generated by the system.

Over-expanding the compressor to absorb the peak value is not a good solution. For medium load, a very large compressor will run in many start-stop cycles, shortening its service life and reducing energy efficiency. It is best to balance the compressor, evaporator and condenser at the same time.

According to xindacool's experience, in a food processing room where hot products are input every day, the peak load can be as high as 2.3 times of the steady-state load. These data should start from the calculation stage of the project.
