Causes and solutions of excessive droplets in DL, DD and DJ air coolers installed in refrigerated rooms

Excessive dripping in the air cooler is a very common fault in the refrigerator, which can lead to the accumulation of ice in the soil, the damage of goods and the risk of people slipping. In most cases, it is not due to factory failure, but to installation or maintenance errors.

The number one reason is the poor inclination of the meltwater collecting tray. The tray should be inclined to the drain hole with a minimum slope of 2%. If tilted horizontally or backward, water will not flow into the pipe and overflow from the edge of the evaporator.

The second most common reason is the blockage of the drainage system. Residue, dust particles or ice blocks the pipeline, and the molten water accumulates on the tray until it overflows. This is suitable for both electrolytic evaporators and D series hydrolysis devices.

When the temperature of the chamber is very low and the drainage pipeline is not heated against freezing, the water in the pipeline will freeze, thus blocking the channel. Even if the tray is tilted well, the water can't be discharged and eventually falls to the ground.

Another reason is improper adjustment of melting cycle. Too long thawing cycle will produce a large amount of water in a short time, which exceeds the drainage capacity of drainage. On the contrary, too short a period can not eliminate the whole frost, which will break down into pieces and produce irregular droplets.

It will also affect the flying height of the air cooler. If installed too low, cold air will hit the stored goods, external condensation will occur on the equipment shell, and droplets will fall into the room. The recommended minimum suspension height is 2.4m..

According to xindacool's records, only 7% of the excessive dripping is caused by the manufacturing defects of the evaporator. The remaining 93% is caused by assembly, drainage or wrong deicing control procedures.

If dripping occurs, the correct order of inspection is: check the slope of the tray, check that the drainage is not blocked, check the drainage heating operation, and finally check the melting time and temperature parameters.

FNH, FNV, FNVT condensers will not directly interfere with the droplets in the evaporator, but poor condenser performance will increase frosting in the air cooler, thus aggravating the problem.

FAQ
What is the minimum slope of the drain pan? The minimum slope is required to be 2%, facing the exit hole.
What if the drain pipe freezes in the cold room? Evacuation is prevented, water accumulates and rebounds, resulting in a lot of dripping water.
What percentage of droplets comes from factory defects? Only 7% of the cases are evaporator manufacturing failures.
Will a bad melting schedule lead to water droplets? Yes, too long or too short a period will cause ice to overflow or fall.
Does the state of the condenser affect the droplets in the evaporator? Indirectly, low-performance capacitors increase the generation of frost.
